Spring Chapter Officer Training
Spring Chapter Officer Training is on the way! As a reminder, this is a required meeting, so mark your calendars! The meetings will be recorded but like last time, we're going to have breakout rooms with your SLC leaders so you don't want to miss this. After a standout group from Fall Officer Training in September, Spring Chapter Officer Training will include an All President's call for Regions 1-8 on Jan. 5, an All Faculty Liaison call for Regions 1-8 on Jan. 6 and then multiple dates for each region's chapter leaders, so make sure to sign up for your time. NCPA Student Ownership Bootcamp
The NCPA Student Ownership Bootcamp on Jan. 22 in collaboration with the University of South Carolina features experts on industry finances, entrepreneurship, and key steps to starting your pharmacy and what you can do to prepare for ownership as a student. Registration is open until Jan. 14 at noon ET for our next virtual bootcamp. Find more information and updates on our website.
New year, new members
It's that time of the year to renew your National NCPA dues! You can renew online here in just a few moments! Chapter officers: also remember to make sure that everyone attending chapter meetings is a national member, and that you're meeting the 16-member minimum for awards and competitions. Questions? Midyear reports and End-of-Year reports
Submissions for midyear reports are now LIVE on AwardForce! An updated template and video on how to submit your reports is available on the NCPA website. Click here to submit yours before the January deadline.
Join your Region's GroupMe!
Always feel like you are missing important NCPA news or events? Well you're in luck! Introducing the new NCPA Student Region Groupme. Using these group messages, you will be able to see calendar events that are important for students to attend. You will also be able to set notification preferences for these as well. Another plus is that these Groupme's only allow the owner (your SLC Region Representative) to post, so you don't have to worry about notification fatigue that comes along with other group messages. Applications open for the NCPA Executive Residency
Applications are now open for the NCPA executive residency! The executive residency is a great way for new grads to start careers in association management, ownership, or innovative practice. Find more information on our website, and contact current resident, Jessica Satterfield, or residency director, Hannah Fish, with questions. Apply here by Dec. 31.
Elective APPE Rotation at NCPA
There are limited spots for an APPE at NCPA in association management. Students can spend several weeks learning about practice transformation, advocacy, education programs, and dive into their areas of interest. Applications are due Dec. 31 and can be found here.
NCPA Summer Internship
The NCPA Summer Internship Program, co-sponsored by the NCPA Foundation, provides student pharmacists an opportunity to gain in-depth experience at a national pharmacy association and the opportunity to learn more about independent community pharmacy practice. Applications are due Dec. 31. More information can be found here.

NOW LIVE! Chapter rosters available in real time
Downloading your chapter's national member roster is the best way to check your progress on making the 16-member minimum or finding out who attends meetings but hasn't renewed their dues. Chapter presidents who are paid up on their dues are now organization administrators and can now obtain their chapter rosters on ncpa.org. Please watch this video to get started. SLC Townhall Series
The NCPA Student Leadership Council is excited to continue offering an innovative webinar series for our student members. The townhalls will take place the 2nd Monday of every month (except for Feb. when it conflicts with Valentine's Day) at 8 p.m. ET. Some of the topics that will be covered include Preparation for Congressional Fly-In, the Business Plan Competition, and CPESN and Flip the Pharmacy!. Upcoming PCCA Student Boot Camp
Have an interest in compounding? PCCA is hosting their first boot camp of 2022 in Houston, TX on the following date:
PCCA Institute's two-day, onsite Boot Camp introduces students to unique dosage forms, basic compounding techniques, regulatory updates, and quality and safety aspects used by contemporary compounding pharmacists. Students are enlightened to the reality and feasibility of opening their own compounding pharmacy and inspired to think of compounding as a viable, rewarding, and fulfilling career pathway.

Upcoming PCCA Fundamentals of Compounding
Fundamentals of Compounding is comprised of two separate parts: 1) an online component that contains approximately 4-6 hours of didactic work per week and 2), an Advanced Compounding Lab that contains two 8-hour days focused on hands-on learning. Students may choose to take the online component individually or in combination with the lab. Many schools of pharmacy offer elective credit for this course. Check with your academic advisors!
The 10 week online course begins February 14 (no prerequisite)
The Advanced Compounding Lab will be held on May 16-17 at PCCA

Interested in hearing more about the wonderful world of compounding? PCCA offers the unique opportunity to have a representative speak to your NCPA Student Chapter to help educate students on compounding and promote further student training. Help open students' eyes to how pharmacists can help meet patient needs through this unique area in pharmacy.

Find your chapter's region representative contact information here to schedule a chapter visit or officer meeting. Student Leadership Council exists to represent you as a member at the national association. Use your representative as a resource for strengthening your student chapter. Weight bias in student pharmacists survey
We are pleased to invite you to participate in a research survey study entitled, "Weight Bias Among Pharmacists and Student Pharmacists". This is a research project being conducted by Hannah Johnson, PharmD, from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. Your responses may help us gain a better understanding of implicit and explicit weight bias and fatphobia within the pharmacy profession. We would greatly appreciate you taking the time to complete the survey here.
NCPA student lapel pins available for purchase
The NCPA Student Affairs department understands the time, effort, and commitment involved in becoming a chapter officer. That is why we offer NCPA chapter officer pins. Each chapter officer can receive a lapel pin that signifies their support and dedication to independent community pharmacy and NCPA. These pins are excellent tokens to distribute at your chapter officer installation ceremony. At $7.50 each, there is minimal cost to the chapter. For $5 each, ALL your members can show their support of independent community pharmacy by wearing the NCPA lapel pin.
