News, products, marketing and merchandising tips for the
front end of community pharmacies

Boost immune support sales

When it comes to natural products, CBD still reigns king. Coming in 2nd and growing fast are natural immune boosters. Products featuring elderberry, echinacea, with lesser-known maqui berry extract and manuka honey are creating a reason to be in your immune support section. Thanks to gummies, immune boosters for children also are seeing growth. If you need to buy any of these products direct, ask for signage, counter display, free samples, and educational support for your team. Your profit margin after paying freight should be no less than 40%. If you are a little late going to the CBD party or wish to expand, click here.

Wake up and sell sleep aids

Natural sleep aids, natural stress relievers are joining the popularity of melatonin. And instead of bringing additional sizes of melatonin, save the space to bring in the newcomers. Sleep and stress aids are now coming in the form of both drinks such as teas and prepackaged single-serve beverages. Sampling of these products and signage are key—cross merchandise new entries in both the vitamin and analgesic sections next to the PM products.

Have you considered this?

When it comes to cross-merchandising products, quantity on hand is a concern. You have two options; neither of them is to put one of each on the shelf. Option one is simple, place no less than 2 of each of the items in the categories you choose, place 4, and you will be able to double face. Option 2 is placing a sign featuring a photo of the item on the shelves in the categories you chose.

Remember what you've learned

"Summer learning loss." It is a term that has been used to describe students returning to school with achievement levels lower when they were at the begging of a summer break. In this year's case, at the levels of on-site, school learning came to a halt. When it comes to helping the youngest of the students, it will take as little as 4-feet or even an end-cap. Here is a great place to start: math, language arts, tracing, kid's story, and general activity books. When it comes to flashcards, look for math, ABC, colors, and shapes cards. If you have a challenge sourcing these items try searching on the internet by typing in "education resources." Or go to RangeMe.

Show 'em what you've got

Kayaking, tennis, badminton, and croquet are among many other non-contact outdoor activities, that are becoming increasingly popular. Along with the popularity will be the increasing need for sun protection, bug repellents, tick removers, scratch and itch creams, and sunburn relief. Do you have an end-cap that is visible from a window those outside can see?. This is the only time where I will suggest one each. Place 1 facing, 1 item deep of the brand name on the shelf, and to the brands right, looking in from outside, place 2 facings, 1 item deep of your private label. Sign suggestions: "Have it and hope to never need it!" "Try our store brand and save some money!" "Available for curbside pickup and or dive thru."
