Easter Basket

Turn Your Pharmacy into an Easter Basket HQ

It can be challenging to come up with gifts to fill an Easter basket. Take the guessing out of it by creating an Easter Basket Headquarters at your pharmacy. Aside from offering popular Easter candies (remember, stick to reliable favorites), offer customers sugar-free and gluten-free candy options and non-candy items such as PlayDoh, Silly Putty, playing cards, jump ropes, sidewalk chalk, markers, stickers, bubbles, nail polish, sunglasses, children's books, and plush Easter toys. The secret to selling Easter baskets is to never run out of grass. If you run out, customers will take their basket needs elsewhere. If you do not have 10 bags left over after Easter, then you didn't buy enough.

Daylight Savings

Daylight Saving Time Reminders

Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 13. Remind employees scheduled to work that Sunday and Monday about the change in hours, and make a note now to adjust the timers on lights and exterior signage that weekend.

Spring Clean

Spring Clean Your Store

As you get ready to spring clean your home, don't forget about your pharmacy! Both the exterior and interior of your store can always use a freshening up, and spring is a great time to tackle that to-do list. Small changes like changing out burnt lightbulbs or adding color with flower boxes can make a big difference in how customers perceive your store. Not sure where to start? Here's an old spring cleaning checklist. Schedule some time to roll up your sleeves and get to work!

Check Your Parking Lot

Take a quick walk around your parking lot. Is there ample parking available for customers? Make sure employees are not parking in the spots closest to the store entrance. When parking spots are hard to find, customers will either turn around or make your drive-thru extra busy! Next, restripe the ADA parking area. Clean the "handicapped parking only" sign and make sure it is not bent or rusty. Finally, check the lighting in your parking area. For security and safety reasons, eliminate all dark areas outside of your store and parking lot.

Store Brand

Recommend Your Private Label/Store Brand

If you are worried that your customers might view private label products unfavorably, well...don't! Consumer sentiment towards private label, according to IRi, has become quite favorable: "More than 90% of consumers believe private label solutions offer the same or better value versus their national brand counterpart, and more than 80% believe the quality is the same or better."
