At-home care saves money for the health care system, CMS says CMS published a fact sheet outlining recent results from its ongoing Independence at Home Demonstration Project. The report found that the expenditures for beneficiaries of IAH participants were approximately 18 percent, or $42.3 million, below targeted spending in 2020, an average reduction of $6,585 per beneficiary. All 10 IAH participants (nine practices and one consortium) reduced the per-beneficiary-per-month expenditures relative to the practice's spending target.
